Setting it in concrete

Today we have received the first concrete on the site. This is in the foundation area around the future main entrance. This is the culmination of a lot of work, not only digging the trenches.

The templates that hold the bolts for the future steelwork have to be prepared and positioned with a high degree of accuracy, so that the prefabricated steelwork will fit in place.

These are positioned and checked with surveying instruments.

A length of the trench is prepared so that full loads of concrete can be taken on site.

The measurements are repeatedly checked to make sure nothing has moved. There is a steady supply of concrete, to make it a continuous operation.
