Parapet on a string

The imposing crane operating today at the site was lifting into place the stringer course, the concrete beam that runs around the building above the windows and doors.

Crane after set up and waiting for the beams to arrive directly from the specialist pre-casters in Northern Ireland. Due to the proximity of the railway line, a safety representative from Network Rail was in attendance to make sure there was no danger to the tracks.

A beautiful straight line running adjacent to Alderstone Road.

The beams are delicate and require a spreader bar for the lifting.

A corner unit coming in to land on the mortar bed.

Final beam placed, many thanks to the team. Next the trusses and parapet will be built on the stringer course.
