Paving the way

The good weather of the past few days has enabled us to make great strides behind Barden House, in the car park.

The base was prepared a few weeks ago. This is a coarse stone structure that enables rainwater to be stored, for gradual release into the stream at the bottom of the site.

The blocks are bedded down onto a layer of sand with gaps between them to enable water to pass through.

With the scaffolding coming down and the car park taking shape the final form can be seen.

The slab at the end is for the bin store.
